I really wouldn't recommend a rabbit as a pet for a toddler.
They are not easy to handle and can often bite and will chew through anything!
I had two female rabbits together and they were hormonal and nasty little things, i would never get a female rabbit again!
They can break their own backs so easily if they are picked up incorrectly, becareful if you do have them in the kitchen as some Teflon cooking fumes can be toxic.
I have had some of the worst scratches from a Rabbits back legs!

Guinea pigs are much tamer and easier to handle, also Rats make exellent pets though not to some peoples taste!

Forgot to say my Male rabbit was very loving, and friendly but hated being picked up.

Rabbits also require vaccinations for myxamatosis, and checking regularly for fly strike, and regular teeth checks.

i used to have 8 rabbits (one popped out babies about 2 weeks after we bought her ) they lived outside though but were very friendly one of them was like a human he had a right personality bless him! we litter trained him aswell and he'd use the tray in his cage which he shared with another rabbit (the cages were huge!)

id love another rabbit though, they are so funny haha x
