Nope.
Simon is completely disinterested in TV and we try not to even have it on when he's around. I follow the American Pediatric Association guidelines on this one. I think it's good research and it works for me and my family.
Here they are, if anyone's interested:

we dont have a tv, only a computer,
he loooves tv and is glued at my parents house or at daycare when they turn on the tv.
at home i put on some sesame street clips from youtube, some mickey mouse club house from youtube, and a dvd that he absolutely loves that is a local character. he did not used to sit very long and watch but he can watch that 40 min dvd quite easily.
its actually a struggle to get him to stop watching.

we don't have a tv but Oscar watches a bit of some carefully selected dvd's everyday - he can sit and enjoy that with concentration for quite a long time ( long enough for me to do the washing up for example) BUT these shows are really carefully picked by me and OH. We don't let him watch anything that seems too hectic or hyper or 'commerical' - I tracked down really sweet gentle stuff. I think the most crazy thing he watches is pingu - which he loves.
It seems to work for us. We dont like normal TV with all the ads and unwanted news headlines and general negativity so I think he is getting a healthy balance of something that is a great pleasure to us (watching programs and films) without all the blah stuff. The great thing is he is very active and he also loves books and sits and looks at them for ages.

When he is older I will make sure he continues to get a good balance of activities but I won't deny him things like computer games etc - but we will control it while we can so that he learns to be discerning about what he spends his time focussing on - with any luck.

Seth watches Charlie & Lola in the morning while he's getting ready for nursery & In The Night Garden while Im sorting out tea He doesn't sit transfixed, but it keeps him occupied enough that I know he wont get into trouble if I have to check on the cooking or put some washing in the machine. x
