a question for mums who have 2+ kids

Hi everyone..

I supose this may be more pregnancy related but I didnt know if there'd be many in the 1st tri who might have 2+ kids. just a couple of questions..

Firstly- did you think about your 2nd pregnancy as much as your 1st? i feel like my first consumed me, but i dont have a lot of time to stop and think this time around with having an LO to run around after. im starting to feel guilty and worried it will affect my bond with my 2nd. am i just being silly an hormonal? any advice?

second- if any of you ladies had an episiotomy with your 1st, how was your delivery with your 2nd or subsequent kids? did you tear where the scar is? just curious cos I had forceps delivery with DS and needed episiotomy so wondering how it will go this time.

oh and i dont think ive posted in here for a good while so hi all!!

thanks for reading and any advice xx

Hi!

Ok first question--I actually think I thought about it more.I was really really poorly when I was pregnant with my 2nd whereas I was rushed off of my feet at work when I was pregnant with my 1st Either way,it wont affect your bond,I worried I would never love Lennon as much as I love Ophelia but once they're here, you'll realise your heart just makes more room to love them and bond with them just as you did your first.

2nd question--I had a nightmare first birth and had an episiotomy and about 20million stitches And a really easy second birth but yes,I did tear. But only a little bit and only had a couple of stitches that hardly caused me any pain at all.

Good luck and try not to worry!

xxxxxxx

Hi hun,

With my first every little part of the pregnancy was analyzed and thought about and jotted in a diary etc ... i lived and breathed pregnancy!
With my 2nd my baby was still under 1 so i didn't have time to indulge myself by thinking of nothing else.

I think its like that for alot of people .. your first time is all so new and diffrent ... but on the plus side i was more relaxed about my 2nd and new what to expect more.

But as soon as my 2nd was born the bond was just as strong and just as instant

My 3rd was the same but with my 4th my others were at school, i had the Internet (which i didn't have with the others) and this website so i guess i indulged in it all again lol

Cant help with your 2nd question tho hun xxx

This is my sixth pregnancy, third child. My first defintely consumed me more as I was off work early due to complications so that was the only thing I had to think about. LOL! The second, I worked until three weeks before I gave birth so I was quite busy, but I did think about it lots because I had insulin-dependent diabetes and so I had lots of appointments etc. I also found out she was a girl, so had that excitement, where as with my first we chose not to know.

This time around is waaaay different. My youngest child is now 5 years old. I have lost so many pregnancies and it took us four years trying for this one, and each day I am in awe that I am finally pregnant. It is almost like doing it again for the first time, as I have fogotten many things...but, not quite! LOL! I am super excited and the cool thing is, my 5 year old and (almost) 7 year old are super excited! I am off work early due to complications and my age (35) and my work and so it is on my mind alot, but I have my two kids who still keep me quite busy.

I have 3 kids and I think each of my pregnancies were as special as each other, as said before you just keep finding more space to love

As for the birth question, my first was also a forceps delivery, however my second was a one push and its over without so much as a graze
