I couldn't have one as they creep me out but can understand why some people have them (For lost angels, etc).

My mum (in her 60's) makes these dolls, she buys the bits mainly from ebay then repaints them, weights them and dresses them, she sells them for a packet too!! And even does 'made to order' aswell!

Mostly people collect them as are worth alot of money but she has had people use them for comfort who have lost little ones which is sad but I do think it helps the people who order them.

She has her own at home cos she loves them, she knows its abit mad but its almost like a hobby lol

They do creep me out abit thought, especially when she made 2 to look like me and twin sister haha even she admitted that was bit weird so she flogged em

Oh and when I go to see her, if she's in the middle of making one, theres random heads and limbs lying around being painted etc which is totally

Jackie, yours are really good!

I decided in the end i would like to learn how to make them and thats what i started to do and i love the hobby.
I dont see the harm in people collecting these dolls.. what harm is it doing to anyone, people collect all kinds of things, i think treating the doll like a real baby and taking it out in a buggy pretending its real is a little too much but hey.. again, what harm is it doing to anyone els?? none at all and if it makes that person happy then why shouldnt they!

Hey I make reborns too! Its a fun hobby and although i dont collect, its another outlet for the creative person inside me Its also a good earner and is now my full time job

to all the people who think its sick, i think im pretty normal

I don't understand why people find them creepy it's a doll ..everyone knows it's just a piece of plastic.. but hey, everyone is different i guess. I don't mind them at all, my nan collects the babies. =)
