Talking

what do you think?

How do you think your child would feel having a counsellor as a parent??

I'm thinking of starting a home study course- an introduction to counselling skills - via home study course, if can be done over 3/6 or 12 months at £30 a month, so thought I could get it done in the 3 months before bubs comes.

I'd then hopefully start an LSA job at my local high school, to eventaully do a part time evening course - diploma in physcotherapy and counselling - only problem being it's going to cost over £2000.

So apart from my first question, good or bad idea? Should I wait untill babies here and older before I even think about the first option?? Or just get on and do it in my 3 remaining months?

I'm finding it hard making the right decision so could do with your help please ladies.

xx

I can't speak for my child but I'd have loved it if my mum understood me growing up haha

Sounds great, especially if you have the presence of mind to complete it before the baby comes. Good luck.

Thanks, I just hope I'm not making a mistake by wasting £30 a month that could really be used for every day living. Or a career change that isn't going to be as rewarding or earning as I believe it to be.

you won't know til you try, but from your LO's point of view, so long a you're not anyalsing them and are 'mummy' at the end of the day, they'd be fine with it I think

You'll never know unless you give it a go

I was thinking of doing something similar once baby comes... I can see myself becoming just someones mum instead of my own person. Itll give you a bit of freedom and interest outside your baby. I hppe that makes sense and doesn't sound too mean!

Good luck

I personally couldn't think of anything more rewarding than working with children. I'm trained as an Early Childhood teacher. I think helping older children with their problems would be very rewarding. At that age, they need all the help they can get to become healthy adults. I'm sure your LO would be proud and you would be to, knowing you are making a difference.
