Do you think this is the beginning of the end?

Nice morbid thread for a Sunday afternoon!

I dont know if I am quite guilliable or if I just like to read about this sort of thing, but you know with the Mayan predictions and Nostradamus' prediction that the world will end in 2012....

Does anyone else think this might be coming true?

You know, with the amount of natural disasters happening so close together (Haiti & now Chile) and the worsening weather worldwide.....

Any thoughts?

You know my uncle and I were having the same conversation last night after the Chile earthquake. I don't know if the world will "end" in 2012. But I do believe that something major will happen. So many cultures of people who never knew each other have all predicted the same day....so I do believe that something catastrophic will happen on that day.

I got myself in to a right tiz about this before, that what if I wasnt with my baby's when it happened and it was prolonged and they were in pain

But I dont even believe it will happen.

Is there a date they say or just some time in 2012?

As far as I understand, from what I've read and from what my reiki master has told me, it's not so much "The world will cease to exist" as it is "This phase/Age of the world will come to an end." Humanity will move forward, people will "transcend" humanity, etc etc.

Agreed. There's been a rumor of another pole shift. If that happens, another ice age will begin.

Its meant to be on the winter solstice, so December 21st.

I'm not sure what I believe, I've read countless books on it, but I don't believe its the actual END of the world, as far as I can understand its more the end of a phase or cycle

I think this too..... it will happen as a downward spiral effect...also the amount of different predictions.... from different parts of the world hundreds of years ago.....

Another ice age? I could quite believe that tbh. Would we be able to survive an ice age?

Thanks Chris for the hugs, lol at you having Christmas early, I was thinking I dont even have to organise Christmas as we might not be around but then if we are I have like 2 days to do it in
