Most of the professionals I have heard discussing it agree that it will be the end of a cycle - and the start of a new one - some hope by then that there might be a new age of enlightenment for the human race, some amazing new technologies - the religious among them hope that it could signal the second coming - they are all agreed that something momentous is going to happen - but not necessarily mass destruction or the end of the physical world.

It is an amazing thought provoking topic though

I read Nostradamus years ago and for every right prediction he got 4 wrong-oh dont like this thread is scary

The Mayans also predicted the end being water related, in one of their scriptures there are drawings of people drowing and water cascading from the sky. Notradamus apparently predicted 9/11 too

yeah he aparently got alot of big things in history right......... world wars, hilter, 9/11, hurricane Katrina, princess Diana dying, iraq war.........

the list goes on!

The bible speaks of the last days and signs of the last days, Not the end of the world as the bible says it will last forever, but the end of this system of things. It gives a pretty detailed description of not only world events (great wars, earthquakes, food shortages etc) but the changing attitudes of society (moral breakdown etc) It never mentions a date and says that only God knows, it only speaks of a time when the signs would be all at once in a generation and on a scale never seen before.

The bible also teaches that the world as we know it now, is not was the way it was meant to be. It was created as a perfect paradise where humans were to live forever, in perfect health, peace etc.

It teaches that the world as we know it now is under Satans control and i believe that we are close to the time when God will step in and restore what was his grand purpose for us

We, and everything around us was made with such precision, wisdom and love by our creator, God. Even the most simple things around us, the house you live in for example, had a designer......so it seems crazy to me to not conclude that our amazing planet, our brains, our bodies were not created with a purpose also

The reason he didnt do so sooner is because his right to rule was challenged by satan and humans right back in the garden of eden ( were humans better off without gods guidance or could they rule themselves? Did God really know what was best for us) Time was needed to prove that humans were not better off without their creators guidance. Humans needed to reach their peak - but are we better off without Gods rule? We only have to look at the world around us to answer that question and it is clear to see Satans influence everywhere. And it is clear we dont know what we are doing...we are destroying the very planet we live on!

What will be will be. I do not intend to spend next few years worrying, I will enjoy them.
