It's almost the end of the month and we haven't been able to find a place to rent and we have to be out by the end of April. We had one place lined up that was pet friendly (2 dogs) we went to sign the lease and there was a clause that said (basically) if the dogs so much as offended anyone we would be required to get rid of them! That was it for that place.

We're off today to go look at a 3 acre corner of a working farm. It's a 3bdrm and 3 bath place with a dishwasher...

I know this may sound strange but I'm so hoping that we get it.

oh what a stupid friggen clause. I really don't understand where landlords get off making rules like that. It took us forever here in Calgary to find a place that allowed all our pets.

I was thankfully really lucky that my landlord didn't have a problem with my dogs. He just said that since it was our furniture he didn't see it being a problem but doesn't normally allow pets in his furnished properties.

Theres so many incidents with dogs that they are just covering them selves which is fair enough. We rent & have found lots of silly clauses often ones the landlord says 'ignore that'. If you know your dogs are not going to go biting peoples legs bark 24/7 and so on there really should be no reason to let go of a perfect house.

Good luck! I know how annoying it can be with pets, we have two cats and most places around here don't allow you to have cats, makes looking for a bigger place hard.

Well we saw the new place and it's great, I couldn't have asked for something better. Now we wait and see if we get it. Hopefully soon.

The other place was a duplex and it even stated that if the new neighbors decided that they were allergic or basically didn't like the dogs they had to be gone. I trust my dogs not to be idiots but I just can't put myself in the position that I would have to break my lease because someone didn't like my dog.

Anyways hopefully we hear back soon and it will be positive news, fingers are crossed.
