Housing points system

Does anyone know the maximum amount of points that can be allocated in order to be considered for a council house? We are currently in a 1 bedroom waiting on a two and was just curious.

Hiya Hun!! I have a lot of points but I am living with my mum. I have been waiting for a place for 3 months and I have been 2nd on the list of just one place.

I think it is a case of your either lucky or unlucky. My friend had less points than me and got her place in 2 weeks!! Just depends. Keep on bidding.. Good Luck x

We have banding too; bronze, silver and gold. The points rate to priority, so it's still hard to pin down time and you might get more people needing housing above you at sometimes than others - good luck and I hope you arn't waiting too long.

We have bidding but we are all banded.. Bands go from A to G!! All bands are for different categories. Band A is people with disabilities, Band B for people who have children and are being made homeless, Band C is transfers, Band D is for people looking to swap, Band E is for people in Hostels and band F and G are just a registered band so for people who registered but dont need to move just yet.

All councils are different but i like the bidding scheme cos we bid on what we want not just get given anywhere to live and have to accept it.. Our council used to be like this and we have been doing this scheme since 2006 when my friend applied.

Hopefully it wont take too long.. We got an extra 5 points because we have been waiting longer than most. xx

We have points at ours but its changing to bidding, at the mo we have 28 points, we were offered a 2 bed flat but turned it down, cos it was so small, no grass anywhere, lounge and kitchen in one.
