We used to live in Ingleby Barwick, which is lovely. Nice schools for the children and doctors, optician, parks, supermarket etc all within walking distance. Quite quiet and the sort of area you can let your kids play outside. Not sure if you'd get a 3 bed for under £500, but have a look on Rightmove. I wouldn't hesitate to move back there. It's within travelling distance of Middlesbrough, maybe 10 mins in a car.

Otherwise, my friend lives in Acklam in Middlesbrough, which might be a bit less expensive, and that seems nice too.

we live in ingleby barwick (for about another 3 weeks anyway hehe) and it is really nice, but I think you would be pushed to find 3 bed for under £500, we are going to be renting ours out and are getting £600 a month, their are smaller 3 beds but i think you would still be looking at a min of £575

Durham and york are nice, unsure about rental prices there though

Well theres a nandos in newcastle and the metro centre.

I grew up in Cramlington which is pretty nice & is 20 mins north of newcastle on the bus, and I think there is a traion which goes to metro centre but it isnt very often.

Theres also like... Blyth (parts are rough parts are ok), Gosforth (south Gosforth is ok, I used to live there), Heaton, Walker... they all have good & bad parts like anywhere

But I do especially like Cramlington coz its where I grew up & you're not far from Newcastle and places like Alnwick & Rothbury
