I knew it was coming and adamantly said I would not be watching but completely forgot and started watching but not really paying attention but as soon as i realised which episode it was I burst into tears and turned it over. It is a very insensitive storyline and to be honest I don't think I will watch the stupid programme again

I'm sure alot of people think the baby switching storylines are insensitive too if that has happened to someone close to them. Also, rape and murder storylines hurt people. But, I hate to say it, people like to watch real life. I know, I know, it's not real, but it can be pretty close.

i think the problem is it is to close to real life its not needed its seriously pushing lines between informative and twisted.

its not just baby storylines remember the little mo story line in eastenders that made me actually vomit and left me disturbed for a while it really bothered me in the same way that these have bothered me. and im clearly not the only one that thinks that these are a bit much

no i dont think people 'enjoy' these that was the wrong wording, people like the drama and fantasy that soaps offer and the more extreme shocking and 'informative' they are the more people watch/talk about them.

I wouldn't watch it if you're upset easily. It's quite horrible.

I thought about this whist packing a box or 5 up your probably right tbh lolly although as you say you maybe worded wrong but I'm guessing there aere people out there who would think and enjoy a good storyline but not all of us would feel the same .... if you see what I mean.

And the Mo story ...oh my that went on and on and too found it quite disturbing where it had been taken to a level not needed.

i think what im trying to say is how far does it need to go?! why does it have to be so graphic and 'real' at one time soaps were a reality escape and now they just use the most extreme things portrayed in the most disturbing way possible in order to get rating with the good old line 'we are handling it sensitively and we are trying to inform people of such and such issues' really its sensationalism and a scheme for ratings and awards.

lol it's ok! I wasn't posting it for sympathy, it was mainly to put my point across. It was a long time ago.

as Linzi said it raises awareness, i myself wouldnt think to rush to the hospital if i didnt feel LO move for a couple of days I'd prob mention it on here but unless someone mentions to me to get my arse to hospital then what would happen.
it was uncomfortable for me to watch because as with most soaps you put yourself in there... what with me being pregnant aswell it rose feelings inside me and i shed a couple of tears as thats my worst fear. There has been some story lines in soaps that seem a bit close to home with things ive been through but horrific things happen everyday and the soaps echo them.

I won't be watching it tonight. I don't think I can watch her going through this, even if it is television. It's extremely upsetting for anyone to watch, so it must be 10x as hard for anyone who has suffered this. I still don't think they created it with bad intensions though.
