Life insurance

Who has life insurance?

I went to the post office today and the woman made me sign up for life insurance But I am really happy I did now, I pay 6 pounds a month for 30 years and Ciaran gets £127.000 when I die

oh and i got it when lo was born, or just before I think. It comes straight out of our bank account and don't notice it at all. I feel more secure knowing that my oh and lo will be able to have that to fall on if I go unexpectedly and vice versa for me if oh goes... Some people think its morbid and it won't happen to them, but unfortunately it does happen and it's just being prepared.

I've got it for OH as he's primary earner. Haven't gotten me sorted yet though.

We are just signing up for it now, rather than a lump sum we have gone for monthly payments for the rest of the term as we don't have a mortgage.

Monthly payments would allow the surviving partner to get stable again and cope without the second income. We have also added critical illness insurance which is a lump sum and sickness insurance for my husband as he gets no sick pay from his job whereas I do.

I also have job related death in service cover which is a lump sum so when we finally get it sorted we should be all covered. Its taking ages though as I am epileptic and it complicates things. It should be done before Minipose is born though.

I think its definatly worth having, my step father recently died after being seriously ill for six months. The financial issues where an added stress which was not needed on top of the emotional stress when he originally became ill.

Hello ladies,

My hubbys the primary earner so we have it for him. I have wondered about bumping him off, million squid sounds about right to start a new life in the carribean with my daugther....

But yes we do have it and we've also made sure that our mortgage would be cleared instantly so our daughter and the one we're having now would always have a roof over their heads. xx
