It's not a choice that I can understand to be honest. I want DH and I to be the people who get to enjoy the wonder of Em. I don't want someone else comforting her when she is sad or hearing her chatter before she goes to bed at night. I can see that for some people it may be the only choise (eg, parents travel/ child with behavioural problems who needs a residential situation) but for most people, I don't think that boarding school is the best choice for a child.

I was in boarding school.Didn't like it at all.Yes it was nice seeing friends and going out on trips but missed my family and always felt I was at school and never free.

However the one story i saw I agree with.Dad is in the forces and they constantly move about so to give her stability she is in a boarding school.Sad but much better for her x

I'm not against it for people that do it. It their choice.

But I wouldn't choose it as my parenting choice, even if I could afford it

My heart went out to that little girl who was home sick. I think in that siatuation if she was my child, I would see how she does. But if she continues to be misrable for a long period of time I would pull her out
xx

I definitely couldn't do it, and not that young either, I was crying my eyes out during that!!

Obviously it works for some kids better than others, the twins had each other, and Lottie's clearly the resiliant type, but god poor April- grabbed my heartstrings!!
