Question

Tesco's padded bra for 7+ girls

They claim it's to help girls (as young as 7) cover up, but looks suspiciously like a push up bra to me.... what is the world coming to?? I started to develop at 9 but a crop top did me fine til I was 11 or so. Certainly wasn't wearing push up bras for a long time after that!

it's all wrong IMO

Children should not wear clothes like that! Children should not be tarted up.
Playing with make up is fine, but when a 7 year old puts on a full face of make up, has a moisurising routine, refuses to leave the house without make up, and so forth, it's all wrong.

Surely those padded bras are encouraging children to feel uncomfortable in their bodies?

I thought stores were putting a stop to all this stuff.

I was in a shop the other day and saw some really trampy undies for little girls - YUCK. If I had a little girl, I would not be buying her padded bras at such a young age. They dont need it.

My niece is 12 in December - it is a shame they have to grow up so quickly.

I know, I tried to think "am I over reacting"? But no, I think it's really really screwed up. I mean, I remember stuffing socks down my bra with my friends and we'd spend the afternoon like that but I was around 11 or 12 then and it was at home and we were playing, we weren't going out like that... This is making 7 year olds think it's normal for them to be wearing bras.

I work in a leading retail brand of kids clothes stores. I know that we once had to pull off and destroy all kids bras that were black for being too provocative! I'm talking about black training bras and teenage 28 AA - 34B sizes! Yet they are allowed that? I can see that these bras will be pulled shortly and have the same fate as the black bras. Its only when the summer came and kids were wearing black strappy tops was the demand for black bras backed as to make them more discreet.
