Does this sound like a good idea? Starting a new university degree?

So I think I've gotten a new life plan figured out. This baby has thrown me for a loop and slightly messes up my plans for school. How does this sound?

I'll graduate in December with a degree in Political Science. I'll start in January at Athabasca Univeristy which is a distance education university so I can stay home with the baby. I'll be completing a Bachelor of Professional Arts in Communcations. Its a 3 year degree so I'll be able to stay home with the baby until I feel ready to leave him/her with a babysitter and can get a job with my Poli Sci degree.

I'm not sure, I mentioned it to my dad and he almost flew off the handle about how I have a baby to look after and should just take time off and look after the baby and work. Am I crazy for even considering starting a new degree 3-4 weeks after the baby is born? (due Dec 3)

Has anyone done any courses through Athabasca??? And do you think those two are a good combination? Political Science and Communications, that is.

Honey, I admire you for following your dreams while having a baby. If you think you can do it, go for it.

Plans may change after you have your baby, but truly, do follow what you want in life.

The wonderful thing is that you are preparing for a good career which will also benefit your LO.
