Help on home remedy for asthma?

I have a really bad cold atm, and it always starts my asthma off.

I just threw up 3 times cos of the cough and it wont go. I dont have my inhalers and am struggling to breathe right now.
Does anyone know how i can get rid of this cough so i dont actually have to go hospital xx

Honey, You need your inhalers....please go to A&E and ask for a prescription and then always, always keep them with you...I speak from experience...even when my asthma is "good" I keep them with me as any change in the weather can set me off and my lung capacity can deteriorate very rapidly!

I hope you're ok and seeking medication? Will be back to check in a few hours!

I've been in the same situation so many times, unfortunately I just need to keep a supply of my inhalers. Nothing else works and it is too dangerous to try something that doesn't definitely work

Well after throwing up about 10 times
I just propped my pillows up and slept on my side. It was 4am when i fell asleep. I had a glass of water next to me, but i'm thinking i need some inhalers for tonight. But i cant get any from anywhere. And a&e will think i'm stupid, cos im not struggling to breathe now, its just at night time
xx

Not at all hun, it is common with asthma to only be affected in the night time.

No on will think that...and if they do, who cares? Your health is way more important than anybody's disapproval....A&E is there for a reason and ASTHMA is a very good reason.....failing that call your local weekend chemist and see if they can pull your medical notes and produce you an emergency prescription? I did one about ten years ago...my bag was stolen with my only inhalers in it!!!

I now keep inhalers in my bag, the car, spares at home and even at my mum's...and always have a spare script for one...never want that horrid feeling of losing them again!

Ive just seen this - I too am asthmatic and the only thing that helps me is my inhalers. If you don't want to go to a and e, do you have an out of hours gp service you could get to? They will probably be able to get you an inhaler or give you a nebuliser to help with your breathing. Hope you feel better soon x

My asthma only affects me at night time aswell, if you put loads of pillows and prop yourself up it helps! Also dust makes it worse, if you have an air purifier that could help! get well soon
