I just need to get this out coz it really shook me up last night.

I was on my bus home when it stopped at some traffic lights, I heard a little comotion behind me and just though it was kids messing about. I then hear someone shout 'call an ambulance he's having a fit'. I look over and there's this guy on the floor in a pool of blood fitting and people are just looking at him and walking past I storm to the front of the bus and ask the driver to let me off so I can help this guy, to my horror the driver refuses so i start shouting at him to let me off. Eventually he does and I run over to the guy. He is lying there fitting and he's gone this deathly shade of grey/blue so I check his pulse and he's freezing cold. I started trying to look for my phone but I was shaking and panicing so much I ended up just tipping the contents of my bag everywhere and begging someone to help me find it but no one stopped. My phone was in my coat pocket so I called for the ambulance and while doing so trying to stop some one to help me. I just can't believe no one helped him before this or hepled me after calling the ambulance I just sat on the floor next to him shaking and praying that he would be ok. I didn't know what else to do, luckily not long after a police car pulled up and they helped me. I learnt the basics of first aid in school but couldn't remember a thing when I needed to. Any way the ambulance came and took him to hospital and the police have said they'll get in touch if needs be.

I was so shaken by this I could hardly stand to get my bus home and ended up sobbing on my own all the way back. I didn't sleep properly coz I kept seeing the color of him and I really don't feel any better today. MIL works at the hospital and is going to try and find out if he's ok for me as I think it will help if I know he is. Don't know what I'll be like if he's not.
The whole thing has completely battered my confidence in the human race and I no longer feel like there would be any help if anything like this ever happened to myself or any one close to me (doesn't help that it is more real for DH as he's deadly allergic to wasps)

scary thing is, people don't care about each other anymore, too busy hitting deadlines, meeting their friends, being snobs and so forth, it's just awful

Thanks ladies! Not having a very good day today, worst part is I have to go past the same spot both to and from work and as soon as the bus went past today I started filling up and shaking again and not really stopped. Really don't think I should be in today but my boss won't let me go home

Wow, that's sickening that no one else stopped. You're in the UK right? I always have held onto this belief that the British have manners and stop to help eachother (I work in Switzerland and it's very much each to their own here, no giving up seats for the elderly or pregnant ladies). I guess I've been away from UK too long! I'm not surprised you're shaken, I hope that you find out he's ok I'm sure that will make you feel a lot better. Screw your boss, go home if you need to

before i had a wheelchair, a few times I used a bus - and often I had to ask for someone to let me sit in the disabled seats

i haven't been on a bus in years, but when I have been on with my wheelchair, frequently I had to ask for people to move so that I could get into the wheelchair bay, and the crap I had from some of them cause of it was unreal!

People just don't give a shit anymore but now & then others are lucky that people like you are around.

Try to calm down - you did your best you got off to help this man regardless of outcome you know you did not just walk on by! Good on you I say
