Taking my driver's license test in 1 hr, I'm scared

I know, I know, this is ridiculous. We have a "graduated" driver's license program. You get a permit at 16 (drive with parents) and then 6 months later you get an "N" (novice). After 6 months, you take another test to get your real license. I've had my novice license for... 10 years...

I'm too old for this test but I need to take it. The novice license prohibits driving from midnight-5am and you have to have a novice sticker on the car. You also can't have more than 1 passenger and you have to have a zero alcohol limit. LOL. It's $100 to pass and $75 to fail

/hug I'm sure you'll be fine. Over here you get a provisional license, where you can only drive with a fully licensed driver supervising you. I had my provisional for 10 years before I finally took my test in August last year So I can appreciate how you feel! Best of luck, just do your best!

Ohh, you will do fine! I like the sound of the Canadian system tho!

I always reckoned here that there should be another test after the 2 probationary years, and that you should have to have a refresher lesson every 6 months until you get a 'full' license.

I do also think that there should be a continual assessment element to driving lessons, and that they should be filmed. Yes it would make them more expensive, but it will also keep instructor standards up.

I failed.

I did everything perfect (well, I have been driving for 10 years), except apparently going 5km under the speed LIMIT counts as a deduction. Too many deductions.

Yes, you can fail for being too safe. Lovely. "The sign is only a suggestion", she says.

My OH wants to file a complaint.

EH?? I got into trouble in my lessons here for keeping up to the limit. As it is that - a limit, not am aim! I was MADE to go at 40mph in a 60mph road for about 3miles with a queue of traffic behind me.

I think you should complain, as you say she said, the sign is only a sugestion. Doesn't mean you HAVE To drive at that speed.........so by doing 5km (3mph!! wtf!!!) I don't get how that could be a fail!!. Here speedometers are likely to have a 10% difference to the actual speed you are doing, so if it says 40pmh your actually doing just under 40pmh.

I don't get how you can fail over such a small thing. Sorry, I have issues with driving tests - as no doubt another instructor would have marked you differently and you may have passed.

Aww thanks

My OH called and lodged a complaint, I've talked with one rep but he'll do most of the rest, an angry French police officer is a lot more efficient at complaints than wussy little pregnant girl

I was just going to say that we have the same system here...and then I noticed you are also from Canada. Well, that would be why. How did you do?
