Lets expand a bit on this... because its a form of rant I have sometimes...
Say you have your buggy. You get on the train and look for the space, right? You see a space which 99.9% has a wheelchair marking on it and park there, no wheelchair around, correct?
Then a wheelchair user gets on, namely moi... I'm normally apologetic, but - I pay for the space, I need to use that space... if there is anywhere else you can put yer buggy, cool, I'm more than happy to hang on a moment - likewise if on the bus you need to fold the buggy - hell, we've got time
So, please do tell me, oh wonderful ladies, why is it a small minority (and it is a small minority) of mothers with a tank of a buggy insist upon refusing to move and saying they can't fold it down?! Grrrr - it drives me up the wall. Why? Because the space has been designated and set up for wheelchairs (with a backing wall to ensure I stay still etc).... and then I get treated like I'm the criminal for using it. Grrrr.
Now back to the original topic. Say if I were on a train - e.g. a Virgin Pendolino Std Class, wheelchair space which has 2 fold down seats - I will happily turn sideways to ensure i only block 1 seat... its politeness! If there is someone more needing of that seat - say - a pregnant lady (because like it or not, pregnant ladies faint)... but I won't say "you're preggers woman, sit"... 'cos she might be fat (See: Jimmy Carr - its better to see a pregnant woman standing than a fat woman sat crying...)... but I still think that a seat considered a priority seat should be a priority for the old, the infirm, pregnant and The Queen (gawd bless 'er).
My 5pence/12.5cents.
Hope some of it makes sense!
