So today, our power went at about 3, we had no heating, not hot water, no electric etc. OH went down there and asked what was happening they said there was a fault somewhere and they had had to cut the power to our street whilst dealing with it. It was raining and they were kneew deep in mud in a hole trying to get it sorted. No problem, I had a gas fire so could keep the house warm. And I had some emergancy money that I put aside so I could go and get a jar for aidan and order something in for me and james.

Well at 8 me and OH decided to go to bed as there was nothing better to do. At 9 all the lights came on power cut over. But the men were still working to get the other half of teh street up and running. So I ran down and offered them all a hot drink tea,coffe,hot choc. I have never seen a mans face light up so quickly and they all accepted. But as I was going back wards and forth dishing the teas out, A girl across the road shouted. " What the hell you doing that for. they caused this" . Yes they did in a roundabout way but tehy had to do it to finish their job and they werent going to leave until it was up and running again.

I just dont get where the kindness has gone I really dont. It's quite sad really

Wow, how rude of the girl!! It's not like you're putting her out by offering the workmen a hot drink! They were working to get her power up again...jeez! I can understand being frustrated, but what a petty argument...

Thats very kind of you, where are some peoples kindness these days thats my OHs job and he loves it when people are kind enough to offer hot drinks when they are busy x

I wouldve done the same thing!

I always offer workmen a cuppa, ive even got my "not so nice" cups that i use so i dont have to give them my nice ones and get them grubby or broken
