What are your thoughts on this. Are you going to participate in it?

(Today March 29, 2008 from 8 pm to 9 pm in your time zone you are supose to turn off all your lights to conserve energy)

Are you or did you participate.

I have mixed feelings on this. I am not planning on doing it. I personally dont think it matters. For me personally, I do my part. I never leave a light on if I am not in the room. I have energy effecient (sp) appliances. I have Energy Effecient light bulbs. Hubby and I ride share to work every day. What more do they want.

If everyone did there part everyday not just for one stupid hour, then maybe things would be better????

Maybe things wouldn't be better? I use energy saving light bulbs ETC but I'm not green-mad. I didn't know this existed? Wouldn't have done it anyway..

I know it is the "In" Thing to do... "Go Green" But I thought I already was??? I mean, My lights have been off since 7 am. I opened all my curtins and my house is lite? Now when I need to turn lights on because the sun went down, they dont what you to?

Its one hour.... Why not do something to make people pay attention permintly (sp)

Like at my local Dollar stores... Our local energy supplier has made it so you can buy the Energy saver bulbs for only a buck. Now that is awesome. More of this kind of thing should happen.

I really dont think that anyone gives a hoot in my town. They didnt even talk about it on the News. Only remembered because of google.

things I do....

I don't wash clothes unless there's a full load
I turn lights off
Neither DH or I drive (granted I have my mario cart but erm, that's cause I need it) we "walk" most places
We don't drink hot drinks most of the time so we only boil the kettle a few times a week really
I turn the tap off when i brush my teeth instead of just letting it run
I use a laptop

erm.... I'm struggling to think now, lol

we try to do our best as well to be green we compost as much as we can; recycle ; energy efficient light bulb ; hybrid car etc...
I won' t do the light off tonight I think( but good excuse to go bd if we do so)...
I think if the big fish at there like target; big molls; gap etc ... Do it so it will be great they are the ones sucking up mother nature anyway...
