South of France

What with Squidworth arriving a couple of months before the wedding, our drive across America is going to have to wait a year or so!!

We are thinking a week in the South of France may be a nice alternative, easy with baby and still like a proper getaway.

Have any of you been anywhere that you would recommend? Ideally self catering and a house, chalet or cottage rather than an apartment or complex.

Thanks peeps

We took Poppy to the South of France this year, and also went last year.

We stayed in the Var region in the south, and found a gorgeous villa with a heated pool which was brilliant for Poppy. We got it via Ownersdirect.co.uk

Last year we got the train to Avignon on Eurostar and then stayed in the Luberon valley in Provence. Stunning!! Loads of sleepy hill top medieval villages and vineyards. Got a good deal through a web site called luberonweb.com as it's all locally owned places, and lots are very nicely presented with private pools etc.

Would totally recommend both regions. Hope you get on your road trip though! We went on a road trip from LA to Vegas via San Francisco and Yosemite for our honeymoon last year and it was the best holiday ever!!

Thank you so much, I will go and look at those website now.

Did you find it a good place to go with Poppy?

As for our roadtrip, we surely will, Boyo lived in the States for years and we go a couple of times a year so we have done most of it already, it was just another excuse to get back to our second home!! Bubs will be well travelled in America from an early age if we have owt to do with it!!!
