To be honest, I am not really sure. I know my MW has a list of stuff I need to order before my birth. I am assuming it will be some kind of large sterile cotton matt, of some sort. Like they use at the doctor's office, that has the plastic backing. Something that will protect the floor, and be able to dispose of.

Oh, and I still don't have a noticable bump on my foot yet. I thought by now it would be there.

What about a birthing pool? no mess

Im guessing it would be some plastic on the floor (even if they don't provide this, you can buy plastic sheets from B&Q and places like that) and some towels.

Im guessing birthing pool is best option.

I want a home birth also .... Im only having 2 (I hope anyway) so I'd like this experience.

I aimed for the bedroom - the midwives brought maternity pads and we provided some more from Mothercare. There wasn't any mess at all when I got home.

I was told to get a sheet of tarpaulin, and we were going to out an old sleeping bag on top of that but she came so fast I was on the bed and we needed a new duvet.
