Let me tell you something honey, im 22. I went for a smear when i was 20 (my first) and when i arrived, the lady asked my age. I told her 20, obviously. She told me that they dont normally do smears until the person is 25 BECAUSE between the ages of 19-25 alot of girls can have abnormal cells which change back to normal, and they end up having to do au unecessary procedure of burning the lining of the cervix, which can be uncomfortable i read. My sister did the same thing at aged 20, and she was told of abnormal cells which she had burnt off.. now all is fine. My point is, dont worry too much as abnormal cells at that age is normal (OR SO NURSE EXPLAINED TO ME)
Good luck and keep your chin up *hugs*
ps its only a recent idea with the aged 25 smear thing apparently..
