What would i pay for some thing like these:

Mamas + Papas Cotbed - £50
Bouncy Chiar - £10
Highchair - £20
Car seat - personally would never buy 2nd hand car seats - probably abour £20
Stard for mosses/basket - 15
Baby play mat - couple of quid
Cot mobile – discoloured slighty with the sun - couple of quid
Sterilizer - £5
Bruin buggie - £20?
Box for nappies - couple of quid
Baby monitors – discoloured slighty with the sun - £5
Baby bath, stand, seat and pot set £5
Changing mat £2
Play gym - £5
Safety gate - 5
Door bouncer - £5
Vest and baby grows. depends on how many £2-10

So that would be around the £200 mark.
Some of the things in there you may not even need as its amazing what people will buy you!

To be honest, if its 5 years old and been in storage, its proberbly not all that great now. Things get a funny musty smell when they have been stored away.
I think, if I were you i'd just say thanks for the offer but hubby wants to buy all new as he's funny like that (Blame it all on him, its easier that way)! lol
-Could also say that your parents and his want to buy something for the baby and have asked to get most things on that list, but thanks anyway!
Ok, I know its lying, but its sparing her feelings and it will mean you don't feel pressured into buyin stuff you don't really want.

Wink

How to escape!!!

Some of things I wouldn't buy even new as you don't really need or get sufficient use for them to be cost effective! Moses cot for example - you'd be better off with a travel cot which is more practical and lasts longer, although obviously doesn't look so cute. Also I think we used our baby bath for about 3 weeks before we gave up and used the main bath! I wouldn't buy a steriliser 2nd hand or a changing mat but I'm a bit fussy hygiene wise. Why not offer to buy a couple of the smaller items - decide on clothes after the birth as you won't be sure what size your baby will be. Then for the bigger items tell your friend your parents/in laws/grandparents/aunts neighbours or anyone else you know has ordered them for you!! It's only fair then if they are paying they get to shop with you so you can't just get them to buy your friends!!

Hope this helps - good luck!
