Getting back in the saddle

I'm really keen to take horse riding back up... more than ever, I have been searching the internet for people advertising part loans in my local area... I have found 2 of interest, both not for a novice ride...

Now I havent ridden in maybe 3 years... I wasnt a novice rider. I used to enter cross country and showjumping events and won many competitions back in the day... like a stupid typical teenager I gave it up for nights out and going to the pub etc. Idiot I am, so eventually I sold my horse & now im dying to get back in the saddle.

I just dont know if I dare call about these horses ive seen advertised on the internet, with me possibly being a little rusty I dont want them to think god no.

I have no confiedence and darent ring... am i just being a prat???

Oh I'd say go for it.

Gosh I was exactly the same. I use to love riding and had my own horses that I spent more time with than I spent at home.

But then "boys" suddenly became more interesting....

But thank you for taking me back down memory lane.
I'd say it's never too late to go back.

I went riding with a friend a few years ago, after about 5 years
of not being near a horse...and I absolutely loved it!!

Go for it!
I LOVE horseback riding. On the outskirsts of my town there is an estate where I go riding.I have my horse since I was 16...I am going to stop now because of the baby, but I'll definitely go back in the saddle again.

I think that it's just one of those hobbies that you can never give up...
I also competed...What kind of competitions did you do?

i used to love riding, big part of my family. I gave up too when i was about sixteen, same as you wanted to be in the pub, chasing boys etc.

Anyways my little sis has horses now and about a year ago i went for a ride with her and it was awful, i'd lost all my confidence.

Maybe you could have a couple of lessons or something just to get you used to things again.
