My 7 year old niece came uo to me last tiem I saw her and said "Auntie heather i'm fat arnt I" I said No and asked what made her think that. She said " All the ladies in mummies magzines are really skinny and I'm not"

your so right!! Thats what i meant like, its getting younger and younger that kids have to be "perfect" Its so sad that your niece said that, my 4 year old niece once told me she couldnt eat chocolate because "it makes you fat" SHES 4!! and a twig, its so horribly sad that kids are made believe they have to be a standard size to be accepted or loved

Wow, I'm shocked anyone would think it's ok to airbrush a baby under any circumstances, citing the idea that it's the ''norm for the industry'' and therefore ok. I have to say I disagree completely with that. But I also think airbrushing anyone under any circumstances shouldn't be done. It's not natural by a long shot and I've seen some seriously killer work done by professional photographers that wasn't airbrushed at all, so I know it can be done without messing with how people genuinely look. There are so many levels on which I find it is wrong, the most obvious one being to promote the idea that ''this is what people should look like''. It's not good enough that ''most people know magazine covers are airbrushed''. I disagree with it in the modeling industry and double that disapproval for babies and children.

It's not surprising at all to me that they DO airbrush babies, I'm more surprised by the comments on here that some people think it's ok to do so! Wow.

Morally, it's vile.

The point of airbrushing is to brush out imperfections, flaws and generate money out of something that doesn't exist. Airbrushing baby fat is saying that it's a flaw or a problem that would make a parenting magazine (of all things!) less saleable. I honestly think society is bordering on mentally ill if they think any baby ever needs airbrushing.
