True! I glad I saw you post because I felt bad for not seeing it as a problem haha. I have asked Jacqui if I can have a few airbrushed pics when her OH comes to Photograph Hallie.

I must admit i dont agree with airbrushing to drastically change someones appearance, ie, making their boobs look bigger, or taking 6 inches off their waist, thats very misleading, but i see nothing wrong with evening out skin tones, taking away blemishes, scars and just general retouching imperfections

Just because "it's what the industry does" doesn't make it right...

If the photo needs retouching (ie. colour/contrast/sharpness/brightness etc) then fair enough. But to touch up photos of babies to purposely make them look different to what they are is wrong... We already get it with adults (and young girls having completely unrealistic ideals of what they "should" look like) - where is it going to stop??

No, ugly people won't sell magazines but like we've all said before, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it's not enough to make adults feel like only a certain look/body shape/hair colour is attractive, now it's babies too...

Sorry but I can't accept that it's "ok" because it's the "norm" for the industry. Stealing might be the "norm" for drug addicts but does that make it right?

Obviously we agree that the baby looks better not airbrushed but thats the same with the tiny catwalk models...they'd look much better with a bit more on them

I dont think anyones saying that its 'right' more that its expected, that yes we should feel a bit sad that it happens but not outraged ? IMO

Airbrushing I.e tints light etc I'm ok with. But I think exteme airbrushing is just wrong it makes women and even children espeicially young girls think that they are fat ugly etc

Babies are meant to have fat rolls its cute, its part of them their character so why airbrush it

My 7 year old niece came uo to me last tiem I saw her and said "Auntie heather i'm fat arnt I" I said No and asked what made her think that. She said " All the ladies in mummies magzines are really skinny and I'm not"

That is what the industry airbrushing is doing
xx
