Ebay RANT!!!!!

So I won a Tshirt from Junk Food from The States California to be precise for 0.99 dollars (I know I got lucky LOL) thinking it wouldn't be no more than 5 to 10 US for posting. Since there was no Int. postage rate on her listing. Well now he/she sends me a total of 30.00 dollars for posting. I think that's absurd for just 'A SHIRT' I think the seller just got pissed I won the shirt for a dollar and now wants to use P&P to extract some money to compensate. How do I go about this I have checked other listings and Int. posting is nowhere near 30 US dollars it's more between 2 to 8 dollars for sending a shirt....to the UK. I have requested total from seller to amend postage but still no reply. Can I tell Ebay about this????? and what can they do??? OOOH JUST SO MAD.......

Unfortunately no, you should've contacted her about posting before bidding is what they'll say it is crap. Only thing you can do is not pay but then you'll get a non paying bidder strike but I'd rather have 1 of them than be robbed!

OMG!

Ooh that's just real crap. I should have never bidded on that stupid shirt no ways she is just plain robbing me now. I just contacted Ebay and they told me to wait to see if she does revise the P&P and if not they are afraid I still have to pay.

Ooh I hate IGNORANT people just not right

To be honest, if a listing doesn't state international postage I would ALWAYS get in touch and ask them before I bid. If someone from abroad bid on something I was selling without messaging me first to see if it was okay and ask what postage would be I would be pretty peeved, so perhaps that's why she's charging more? I know it's wrong to very obviously rip you off, but I personally would have asked. xx

You can you can you can!!!!!!!!

All you have to do is.....

Pay the amount they ask -

THEN

when it arrives and you SEE how much it ACTUALLY cost to send - open a paypal dispute cause there IS an option for being rediculously overcharged on postage funnily enough haha! and obviously when they supply the receipts of how much it cost paypal will take the difference back where they overcharged you!

NEAT!!

I did this cause some idiot decided to charge me £25 for something I KNEW would only cost a £5er so I knowingly brought this and paid for it, waited for it to arrive, contacted seller saying you overcharged me - and when they refused to pay the difference back - i ripped them to shreds in a paypal dispute and got back what I deserved ! I hate it when sellers put the the starting bid at 0.99 then charge a REDICULOUS amount for postage JUST so they don't incurr ebay fee's or cause they didn't get what they wanted in the auction - serves them right really! you can't rip someone off with postage lol!

x

This is what ebay in the uk says

All sellers are now required to specify a domestic P&P for deliveries within the UK. New listings without a specified domestic P&P will be blocked.

There are limits to P&P charges in certain categoriesfor deliveries within the UK. New listings for which P&P charges exceed these limits will be blocked

Note: We’ll soon be discontinuing the postal insurance option.

Flat-rate P&P costs
When you select 'Flat: same cost to all buyers' in the Sell Your Item form, you decide the postage and packaging costs and which services to use. This option enables you to enter flat costs for UK and international delivery. If you are selling more than one item, you can enter a postage and packaging cost for each additional item a buyer purchases. The cost you enter will display on your item listing. Your buyers will be charged the cost you specify when they pay for the item.

Note: You'll also be required to specify a dispatch time when you list your item. If you do not specify a dispatch time, eBay will select a default dispatch time for you.

Id have a look at the help section on ur ebay n see if its any help.

just found this

When you list an item on eBay, you need to tell the buyer how much shipping will cost. You can do this either by choosing a flat shipping cost or by letting eBay automatically calculate the shipping costs. You can also offer free shipping.

on what should be ur ebay. I would dispute the trader with ebay, explain they didnt use procedure correctly by displaying shipping cost when they listed the item. good luick

Tell her you will arrange your own shipping and that you can get fed ex or ups to collect it.

But also $30 is like £15 sounds - thats what it costs me to send a 3kg package to Bristol from Aberdeen. So its not THAT much!
