Mac, windows or Linux?

So what do you use, Mac, windows or Linux? And why?

I am a mac girl all the way!!!!!!! I've never had a virus in 6 years, it is amazing. No freezing, no crashing, love it.

Used to have a Mac and love them, my boyfriend always tells me to shut up when I say how shit Windows is compared.

I have had a PC for a few years now and I remember saying to my brother, "What? I need a virus scanner..?" lol.

I found the same, the ant-virus software made my computer really slow! Took it off and my computer moved a lot better!

I am on windows atm. I hate it, my comp is so slow and I have been told by a comp man that windows is not for using multiple things... (mind blank) at once. Used Macs at uni and loved them, once get used to the differences they r really good. I just wish we had someone who sold Macs in my city.

Whew.

I've been a windows user for years and recently as of August 07, I obtained my first new age intel based 24 inch Imac... There's quite a few differences and depending on what you're doing will determine which will best suit you.

The PC: It's excellent for programming, systems information based applications and network administrating. The downfall obviously is the most common OS would be windows and was designed by Microsoft which means it's packed with useless utilities and services that'll suck away your system resources. Not too mention the stability of it the OS itself usually sucks.

The Mac: It's excellent for web designing, music production and video editing. There isn't such a thing as a more ideal machine for doing each of those. In my experience, it has been very stable and especially quick with the new intel based chips. It's very user friendly and the GUI they chose to use is simply awesome.

Which one do I like better? I can't say that I like anyone over the other. They are both very good for their own purpose and are better for certain aspects of computing. Therefore, I use both. Nowadays, you can even run Windows natively using the mac which ultimately erases the option of using a separate computer, a PC.

Linux would be great for people who aren't liking the simplicity of GUI's and are doing lots of programming. Linux is the most stable of all, has the ability of most customization and by far will allow you to do the best computer/network administration monitoring.

Also, not to burst anyones bubble about viruses on the MAC. There currently aren't any that are able to infect a mac based operating system but there will be later on. They're now using intel based architecture which means vulnerability will be prevalent.

Mac based system can not be infected with viruses right now BUT they can carry them passively and ineffectively on their current hard drives and be passed on to computers they are effective on; ie. somebody using windows, maybe you're sharing something through a network and they decide to get that file. The virus that was on your mac could've infected that particular file which had no effect on yours but could destroy theirs.

Just thought I'd throw my info on that.
