Are you what you wanted to be when you grew up???

I am just curious if anyone actually became what they wanted when they grew up?

If so what?

Even if you aren't, what did you wanna be?

I wanted to be Big Bird...hahah

Hell no! lol I wanted to be a cultural anthropologist, travelling the world and staying with different tribes and living in different countries so I could write about their lifestyles. Not with my own TV show or anything, I wanted to write for National Geographic and be a university professor.

But alas, not going to college got in the way of that, and I became a housewife instead, with aspirations of becoming a school secretary some day when my kids are older.

i had no idea what i wanted to do... i currently work for a mechanical and electrical rail installation company... need to get out of that place lol!!

I have decided that i want to work with deaf children, just finished my first year at college and will be starting the 2nd year nxt september, then hopefully on to bigger and better things!!

I always wanted to work wit animals - when very young wanted to be a lion tamer...?!
Then had aspirations to be Vet but didnt have the grades so i became a Veterinary Nurse.. loved my job - Job satisfaction was high, but the pay very low.

I always wanted to be an art teacher...I even got my Fine Arts BA at Emily Carr. I have never used it!

When I was little I wanted to be a vet, but when I volunteered at a local vet...I found I was too soft for the job.

Now I have my dream job of being a stay at home mom.

But not before I was an accountant! Which is soooooooo funny since I hated math and got crap grades in it.

No, I could never make my mind up what I wanted to be

I wanted to be a hairdresser, a make up artist, a nurse, a rockstar....

Needless to say I'm nowhere near doing anything like any of them!!

I'd still love to get into nursing though and will seriously look into it once I've finished having my family.

I always wanted to be a surgeon, but that didn't happen! It was unrealistic dream really, I suppose just another thing that I 'lost' because of the trauma in my childhood! Or is that a bit of a cop out? I was doing great at school until then, but because of the depression and anxiety that followed, I was unable to attend school for the most part, and would ultimately have lost a place at Uni because of it.

I wanted to be several things... A judge, an actress, a firefighter, a scientist, a pop star... ended up being a plumber though!

Although I can most definately say that I'm going to be having a career change once Ive had my babies. Would love to become a midwife some day.
