Help!! A cooking question!

I am a dreadful cook. I have no commin sense when it comes to cooking and I was banned from home ec at school after I set fire to a grill making toast- yes, honesty!

So Chloe has up to now lived off pre made jars, packets etc and frozen stufff, just as me and Mark do, but I want to have a go.

I've got some veg and lentils and plan to cook them in water, then put them in a dish, cover with cheese sauce and sliced potatoes and put in the oven.

will that work?

and, if it does, can I freeze and rehaet it for Chloe?

Thanks for your help, if anyone has any other ideas, tip, suggestions I'd be grateful!!!

If you're new to cooking I would stick to recipes. Then you'll learn what works and what doesn't! I agree, Annabel Karmel is prob a good place to start

I was wodnering.... how did it turn out?

If you start cooking just start by doing simple things, like your mixes. Pastas are very easy. And you can experiment with the sauces no end.

If your clueless with cooking, id recomend a students cookbook. Its has basic recipies and is basicly a dummys guide to cooking (no offence) I got one for OH and he things its great as it has no posh words in it.

Good on you for giving it a whirl hun, your idea sounds really nice.A lot of what you would cook for yourself will also be fine (blended if need be) for little one.Just dont add any extra salt to anything you cook is all i would say.

Your story about being banned from cooking in school reminded me of a girl in my class that covered her pan with cling film lol x
