Mines pregnant again

We got conflicting advice from a vets receptionist, and now we have a pregnant cat again.......is it right that as soon as she has had them she can be done, or does she have to stop feeding the kittiens first?

We did so well keeping her in too, but she got out the top window and came walking back all pleased with herself with a ginger tom! I wasn't happy, and weeks on she has that swollen belly again! x

My female cat went through one cycle of being in heat and that was plenty for us. Luckily we live in an apartment on the fourth floor so it'd take her falling out an open window (which obviously we don't leave open wide enough for that to happen) for her to get outside. My poor male cat (he's a year older than her) didn't know what was going on (he'd been fixed several months before ).

My cat went missing, when I found her meowing outside in the bushes (we lived in a block of flats) and took her to the vet, he said the back end looked "prominent" lol, so we got her nuetered then and there which was a bit sad but oh well.. She used to drive me mad, crawling along the floor.. bum in the air, meow meow oo oo meow

Aw I know how you feel! One time we had 4 of our girls in heat at the same time... not fun! Needless to say we got all our un-fixed queens and toms sorted asap!
My dog is in heat at the moment and her favourite seasonal past time is whining constantly, we're saving up to get her spayed next.

But I'll tell you what's really annoying - one of our older girls (about 4) got fixed in her first year but still has the hormones running through her, so every 6 months or so she act like a cat in heat, all the mewing and flashing her bits. Then after that she'll 'mother' the younger cats and let them nurse from her which looks very strange as they're all twice her size! Poor girl!

Tam, get her fixed two weeks after her milk's dried up, so when the kittens are about 9 or 10 weeks old.

Awww Thank you hun!!! We were told that we had to wean the kittens and then wait another 12 weeks or something ridiculous......it was such hard work keeping her in as we have a male who loves to go out regularly, but we managed it, but then the sneaky sod got out the top window as soon as it was opened, I never even gave it a thought as it had been so long since it had been opened.

But I am sure it is the same Dad as last time.......but either way, I will love having the kitties around, but I will be pleased when they all go too, it will be hard work now Alfie is getting about! And my OH is seriously not a cat fan at the best of times! x
