A keg at a babyshower?

Ok well my BF's brother's wife is having her second baby, So they had there baby shower yesturday right well you wouldnt guess what they had there......they had a KEG there, now correct me if im wrong but isnt a baby shower supposed to be about the "baby" and not the beer? Also his brother and his wife arnt really good parents well befor she got preggo with her second baby my bfs brother and wife smoked weed around there first baby and they still do, they party hardcore around her, I remeber going to a party they had and there baby was crawling on the flloor with an empty beer bottle in her mouth and she wasnt even 1yrs old yet!! To me i think they are messed up parents...Oh listen to this they fill up the bathtub and leave there 1 yr old baby in the bath ALONE! seriously, they just leave her in the tub to play. I think social services has been to there house like 3 times already...what do you guys think about this? I had to get it out of my head, it was making me mad!

As far as the Keg, well to each its own. As long as she was not drinking it. I guess. I have been to showers where wine was served. But a keg, yeah that is a bit Odd...that is usually a guy thing.

As far as everything else. that is awefull. If they keep that up, they will find themselves with out kids. That is just too bad. Hope they grow up someday.

A KEG?? OMG? At a baby shower??

Think wine/few beers is acceptable (obv not being drunk by the mum!)

Was Vicky Pollard there too?

im not too bothered by the keg as its just drinks for the guests... different people have different tastes its also cheaper to buy the keg rather than cans/bottles. if i have a baby shower id supply drinks for my guests, just because i cant drink doesnt mean i dont want them to. id have a problem if the mum to be was blammo'd whilst pregnant though. i mean at christenings thats meant to be all about the baby and its used as an excuse for a party afterwards. no not too fussed about ale being present
the other things you remarked on are worrying letting their child crawl round with a bottle in its mouth isnt safe obiously and i dont agree with them what so ever

Sounds like a party for the guys and not the mum.....at my baby shower for DS, my best friend made a champage punch, thankfully there was a sparking apple cider for me!!!
