Black cat at local vets

my friend just rang me to say that she had just been to the vets and there was a black cat there free to good home.

since we gave up the dogs a few months ago (to my mum and brother) i have been thinking of getting a cat friend for Aber our tomcat. he is such a friendly cat and constantly craves attention from me and colin. he plays well with other cats on the street but gets so lonely when hes in the house.

anyway so i rang the vets and they told me that the cat was male, unsure of age, no name, hasnt been neutered but they would do it for free if we took him. hes been there 3 whole weeks, brought in as a stray off the street.

my friend just sent me a pic off her phone and he looks like a lovely lovely cat.

the only thing is... with a baby on the way etc, is it wise to get another cat??

I'd say no Terrie thats my personal opinion!

I have decided my cat needs rehomed but I've not yet had the balls to go through with this! Cat hair everywhere even up my curtains and I clean enough. I found the cat in the moses basket once and Im sorry to admit she got a sore bum and has not been found in there since - doesnt mean she may not have took that as a hint and I felt so bad. Basically in the end Caitlin comes first & I don't want to be unfair to my kitty either

Im keeping both my cats. I don't have many problems with them there is a little bit of hair. We'll see how they do when Angel gets home but im not too worried.
I don't really have any advice but if you feel like it's the right thing then you can try it. You can always adopt him out if it doesn't work out.

If you want to give this little kitty a good home then do it.
One extra cat won't be a bad thing, and it's easy enough to keep the house tidy - I find it easy and I have a few cats and a dog.
There's so many old wives tales floating around, the amount of times people have said "you'd better be careful with cats around the baby"! How many times are you going to leave your baby alone with the cats hanging around?! None, I'd say!
And if new kitty and Aber get on well then new kitty will be a welcome addition for Aber seeing as you'll be busy with your baby.
But hey, that's just a crazy cat lady's opinion
