Poorly? Any Ideas?

Ladies im going out of my mind, hopefully someone can help me a little

My OH is sick, he has been for the last four days and i cant get an appointment for the doctors until tomorrow afternoon.

Ive thrown numerous different pills at him hoping it might make him feel better but nothing has worked.

Over the weekend he complained he had the runs and had tummy ache, then he felt really really sick but couldnt be sick, he has complained of tummy ache ever since. Now it eases off for a while, but gets worse if he eats anything. He is also constantly burping. He has been like this for four days now.

Now at first i thought indegestion, and gave him some pills, didnt work. Then i thought maybe trapped wind, gave him some pills, nothing. Have tried stomach settlers and all sorts.

Has anyone got any ideas on what it could be? I just need to make the wait until tomorrow afternoon a little more bearable?

Hey

Sorry to hear he is poorly - not trying to scare you or anthing but if he is still feeling poorly it could be a grumbling appendix?

My dh had really bad stomach and couldn't eat when we came back from our honeymoon and pains in his lower abdomen - does that area feel tender to him?

If so I would ask to see your doc as soon as poss or even go to A&E

wish him better x

Oh dear, I'd try to contact a doctor asap and get advice. It's not normal to feel like that for 4 days I think. Can't you ring a hospital and try to speak to a doctor or nurse?

I would ring thr docs and demand an appointment saying its an emergency, if the receptionist ask's 'what's the problem?' tell them its none of their damn business! Otherwise wait til the doctors have closed and get him down to the out of hours GP!

I'd defo not wait til tomorrow if he's had a bad tummy for 4 days!

xx

Perhaps he has Gastritis. I had this in January, the pain was really unbearable, especially when i would eat or drink things, as that seemed to irritate my stomach even more. Could be caused by acid in the stomach. I ended up going to the ER and they hooked me up to a drip and eventually gave me some medicine to balance the ph in my stomach to get rid of the acid. It did wonders because i got better by the next day.

I would say Pepto Bismal or Tums would work for this...but in some cases (like mine) the acid reflux is so bad, you need something much stronger than those over-the-counter types.

I do hope he gets better soon, love. How sweet are you taking care of him like a little nurse!

Oh just remembered this bit my doctor talked to me about: This kind of pain and acid buildup could be caused by your gallbladder. you could have a gallstone that is trying to pass, this can cause lots of pain and acid build up. Of course appendicitis is another cause for abdomen pain (but doc rightfully ruled that out for me, because i have no appendix already LOL)

I hope he has nothing too serious, but remember whatever it is, it can be fixed

^I was about to say Gastro. It sounds like it could possibly be. Keep the fluids up to him constantly. Get him to eat light things, like Egg whites and toast (dry) but not too much. You can buy Electrolite drinks from the pharmacy, they replenish the fluids lost with things like that. Or you can get him to sip on Gatorade or Powerade drinks, does the same thing.

Awww I hope he feels better soon
