I only ask this because I do something for my husband every year. Its always just a little something but at least he will know I thought of him. Is it wrong of me to just want a card? He never gets me anything. Its been along time since he has. Yes we have a nice dinner at home but still. It would be nice to know he cares...

I would say no but thats only because me and myOH don't reallyl ike valentines day (we sound miserable don't we lol) and prefer to do something to surprise each other at other times in the year as we think it means more. However if I had bought him something and he didn't buy me anything back I would be annoyed with him, so I can see exactly where you are coming from. It doesn't need to be much.

I always expect at least a card, and since the first year we were married when he got into trouble for not doing these things, he's learned to give me cards for birthday's and holidays (I even get one for halloween now )

I don't think it's shallow of you at all to want something, even if it's just a card. It's nice to know someone has been thinking of you.

i don't expect my DH to get me anything, and i usually tell him not to (as i am not a very materialistic person, i rather see big numbers in our savings account ) but today he brought me home an extra large box of my fav. hawaiian macadamia nuts chocolates. Nothing big or fancy, but he knows i adore them, so it was nice he was thinking of me

I would have to say no...but OH woke me up with breakfast in bed this morning, and we are going out to dinner tonight! Something I am not used to, TBH, especially on valentines day! Last year we did nothing. He's got something planned too, I think, cuz he's been acting funny, and I know he got me something, cuz he freaked when I almost found the receipt in his pocket while doing laundry

Hmmmmmm...........................

and I didn't get him anything

oh, wait!!!! I'm carrying his love child!!! Happy valentines day to him!!!!

This year I told my OH to get me an orchid, that's all I wanted. Well, then I got my BFP, and I think he's still in shock and probably forgot. So I'm giving him a "get out of jail free" pass.
