Rude woman - rant!

I went into the market today to use the toilet....I cant get Ella's pram into the ladies toilets as you cant in most places, so as usual I used the disabled toilet.

As I was walking out a lady in a wheelchair came up to me, I could see ehr watching me, and this was the conversation:

lady " escuse me are the ladies toilets not working "

me " Yes they are, why ? "

Lady " well why did you use the disabled toilets then ? "

me " Becuase I have my daughter in her pram and I cannot fit her into the ladies toilets and I will not leave her outside the tolilet by herslef where somebody could take her! "

I was furious, couldnt believe she even questioned me like it was her right to, and if I was an older mum she probably wouldnt have said anything probably becuase I am young.

too all you mum's out there, was I right to be angry ? I would never leave Ella outside the toilet by herself!

Think you were right to use them, I would not have left my child in her pram. Don't think your age has anything to do with it. Perhaps she has seen lots of able bodied people use disabled toilets without good reason. Know I get miffed if people park their cars in parent and toddler spaces, probably the same for disabled spaces/toilets. You did the right thing

I think you are right to be angry. Last month I was at the mall and a woman left her baby outside the toilet in the stroller and I was appalled, I just can't imagine doing that! Anyone could take your child!!

you can never be too careful these days can you!

I was sat on a bench and I saw her eyeballing this lady who came out of the disabled toilet who was perfectly abled and had no pram or children, so fair enough if she said something to her, but she didn't and collared me as I walked past her! I was fuming afterwards lol

no doubt it was disabled toilet/baby change was it?

I don't think that any one should have a right to question you. Its just old age, they like to whinge...

Most disabled toilets are kept locked but people who need to use them - including pregnant women and women with kids in pushchairs can get keys for them!!

Lauz you did the right thing and you were also very polite as I would of told her to F*ck off and get a life.

Kids are precious and no way would you ever consider leaving your child outside a toilet-she should commend you, that in my eyes constitutes a great mum - putting children first and thinking about their welfare.

Bitch! x
