From a disabled persons point of view, it damn frustrating when someone who isn't disabled uses a disabled toilet, especially if they have continence issues. Personally I don't have a problem when it's like a mother and baby issue, but when it's just 'oh this one is bigger' it's annoying.
I was once in the cubicle when a group of children and their mother was outside, one of the children asked 'can we go into the disabled toilet' and the mother replied 'there's someone in it, come on, use the proper toilets' - or that was the just of it. ok so I don't know if the child was disabled though I do know that they didn't have an obvious physical disability cause we saw and heard them when I came out.
I don't think that she should've reacted like that if there was no mother and baby cubicle, but that's why she probably did. |
I totally agree,if you can use the regular toilets and have no reason to use a disabled toilet then you shouldn't.
The only other time I use them is when they are cleaning the regular loo's and they tell you to use the disabled one.
I usually go the toilets in The Mall, they are huge and the door opens outwards rather than inwards so that you can get a pram into it, when there availible I'd never use the disabled loo.
It annoyed me that she said something to me I dont think she had any right to.
