Thanks for all your help.

Anyone else with advice? thinking of asking them about part buy as we're interested in that but all the ones I seem to see are single wage: 23,000 for example.. too much for us since only sonny is working. We'd contact housing associations, but can the council arrange that for us? since i've seen HA places on the council bidding site. Hope that makes sense, im holding bethanie and typing with 1 hand lol.

The housins associations don noramlly have there own lists, they usually allocate there tenancies to people on council lists(may differ area to area) and you can usually apply to part buy, which means u can buy a percentage anything from 25% to full amount and u pay rent on the percentage u dont buy. so for instance... Cost of property is £180.000 you buy a 50 % share at 90.000 which would be around 700 monthly on average and then on top u would pay around 200 rent. just as a guide.xx

Yea thanks I know how they work and think they sound a great idea. my boyfriends dad works for a housing association so he is always trying to tell us about part buy and encourages us. It's still a little too expensive for us though, so I think council will be the way for now, unless they tell us otherwise.

Iwantone, yes we have the same bidding system every Thursday. I get what you're saying and we are going to stress that we need our own place.

According to our circumstances though, we are in the highest band available in our position (overcrowded, they realise we need our own place.. all of that crap) so I know we won't be moved UP the list, do you know what I mean? but do you think it will benefit us? or will they just try to bullshit us.

Yea I think they're going to try and take the piss just to get rid of us. It's not a lie that we want our own place and it's causing problems, but we will definitely exaggerate a little bit. The man at the council said we don't need a letter just yet but we might be asked for one in future, im sure his parents will have no problem writing one anyways.
