they have offer me to go a speeding course for 3 BLOODY HOURS but its worth it i lose my points so my insurance will not go up yeah yeah its in flinstshire where ever that is i have to pay £60 for the course however i dont think i pay he fine aswell

yes losing them as i have opted to take the course so they dont give me my 3points yeah

I did the course, you have theoryi n the morning and a practical after. I actually learnt somethig from it, and it helped me more then points would have.

theres no test its a video and a leture of a DAS driving instrustor i got 3 points for speeding wobbs

Ill be truthful I think the course sounds good but if you speed then so be it you should keep your points & go for the course in my eyes ...they did this for a reason and you only do it so many times before your license is took and not a child because someone was given a blooming course the first time defeating the purpose of the points!

Sorry if that sounds harsh but its like the advert you've all seen Im sure that anything above the speed limit can kill.

Some people would think oh its ok my points are back to 0 so if I get caught again I'll only have 3 like I did before - kinda a second chance open to not care. No Im not saying YOU are like that but hoping someone sees my point.

i think the course is there so u dont reaffend totally uderstand where ur coming from wobbs i dont want 3points and i understand what i did was wrong but i ave been given a second chance and i am taking it however if i get a speeding ticket within the next 3yrs i will automactically get the 3points so it like protbation i know i did wrong and i would rather do the course pay the fine than have 3 points

can see what you are saying but this is an educational course. it was introduced after the research was showing that drivers who attended the course showed a lower average speed then those who recieved the fixed penalty. Certainly made me think!!! I had to pay £90 but I think it was money well spent as not only did I get a chance to learn about the dangers of speeding but also got some great tips too which I still use today.I don't think I got out of anyhting, I may not have got the points but I still paid the financial penalty and whereas I could have got the points and thought "ah well" I had to go and face up to my behaviour and take responsibility (though thankfully not through having hurt anyone). Was uncomfortable at times. you are only allowed to take itonce every three years (personally I think it should only be once but thats me). I am miles more speed aware now then other drivers I know including someone who has 9 points on their licence but still hasn't learnt.

yours doessound different to mine Tiff. We had the theory and videoin the morning and then had to go out with driving instructors and put the theory into practice. Was a whole day too.
