My cat...and her Kittens Help Plz

(also my cat is 3 years old) My cat had 2 kittens yesterday, and 1 died about 30 mins after birth but the other one seems to be doing fine , yesterday my cat was taking care of her babys jus fine , but now its like she jus wants to go interact with my other 2 cats, and leave her lil to take care of itself!!!

So obviously the baby needs to eat and stay warm, What should i do??!!

She may just be having a bit of a break, but if she doesn't return within 5 minutes. I would get a little heating pad, turn it on low, place it under a towel and make sure the kitten stays warm. If she is abandoning it, maybe give your vet a call and see if they can help. Maybe someone else has a litter that this baby can be intergrated to, or if there is someone who takes care of abandoned newborns. IF they don't maybe find a local rescue group and call them. If that doesn't work you will have to bottle feed it yourself, if you are willing to do so. PM me for more info, I worked with a rescue group before I got pregnant, so I have a bit of experience with all this.

get some lactol from the pet shop or vets asap and feed kitten with a syringe then fill a hot water bottle or pop bottle with very hot water and wrap in a thick towel and place in kittens bed u will have to feed kitten every couple of hours so set an alarm i had to hand rear 2 kitties myself a couple of years ago also you will have to stimulate the kittens bottom with wet cotton wool to mimic the mother as that is the way the kittens relieve themselves until they get a bit older hope that helps.

My cat was not too keen at all on being with the kittens, I think she was in shock tbh. I had a box that I put shredded paper with a towel over to make it soft and warm, I placed it by the radiator and kept putting my cat in it, in the end she stayed in there and rarely left, she really suprised us. (Although I did have the box set up about 2 weeks before the kittens came so she could get used to it).

If you handle the kitten (I know it is best not to, but it is also in the best interest of he kitten) does she cry at all, and does this get a reaction from Mum? Try this, that is another way she may take charge.

Otherwise, you will have to keep her warm with a hot water bottle under a towel and in a comfy box (ideally), and feed her every couple of hours yourself and hope that your cat comes round very soon, as otherwise she will show no interest at all, and it will be a lot of work for you, but worth it in the end!

Good Luck! x
