LOL opiates used to be very commonly used for everyday complaints.

Very well to do ladies used to have Morphine parties too.

Mind you not so long ago it was much more common to ply babies with alcohol in gripe water or in their bottles to help them sleep...now look at how that is viewed!

Fortunately though mistakes do still get through for the large part our scientific understanding is about 100-fold greater than it was then. Phew!

Guaranteed when either our kids have kids, or their kids have kids they will look back at the stuff we have now and think of them as deathtraps and whatnot.
