I am so annoyed at my Mam!! We arranged WEEKS ago for her to have my 2 boys overnight. She made plans afterwards to go to york for 1 night and she took my oldest son with her. She said she would be back by 2pm this afternoon and for me to drop the LO off at about 3. I just rang her and they are still in york and are not planning to be back until 6. Jake has his bath and bottle and is usually in bed somewhere around 6 so its all been knocked on the head now!

The fact that she isn't having the LO isn't the problem, i'm quite happy for him to be at home but its the fact i've been messed around that has pissed me off. I had all his things packed up (and as you know, that means half his belongings lol) and i had made plans to go out for a meal with OH tonight. Tomorrow i planned to start sorting out Jakes new room but Nooooooooo coz my mam is selfish!!

She shows very little interest in the LO and if that had been my eldest, she would have broke her back to get back intime to babysit him, she addores my eldest! This was going to be the first time Jake would be staying there so you'd think she would have been keen.......guess not.

Aw no - its not the fact you mind having your own chdilren its the fact you made plans and planned a nice Mummy & Daddy time - Nothing wrong with that. I'm desperate atm for a bit of space even if it was to do some cleaning I don't get a chance to get to most times!

chill a bottle of wine and sod cooking get a take-out and hopefully LO sleeps through? Watch a movie play a silly game on the Wii or other console! I remember our first night without Caitlin we had an open fire ...we lit that, got a few drinks, pringles and threw the futon matress in the middle of the livingroom!

Sounds like my MIL, she was meant to babysit and at teh last min decided to go shopping so we were sat in her garden untill she came back!
