Did anyone watch the chicken thing with Jamie Oliver last night?

Oh my god .... i was in tears for most of it, shocking!!

Yeah i watched it though i had to look away at that bit.
Its such a shame, i hate seeing things like that!. It turns my stomach.

There's a similar program I saw o BBC3 the night before. Even though I've worked in the industry and seen it all before, I hate seeing that last few moments before an animal is killed.

yea i watched it(made a thread about it too lol)

thankfully i buy all my meat and dairy organic, but working in a shop, i do understand that lots of people stick to the value brands

I cried most of the way through esp when they gassed the baby chicks right in front of you ... definatley made me think.

I buy free range eggs anyway, but i think for an extra pound or so im going to start buying free range meat too.

the bbc thing is kill it cook it eat it i like it to see where my food comes from

Yep, saw it too.

It was very interesting to know how different chickens are bred and I think that for an extra £1 it's a small price to pay for something that's been shown some respect for the life it's had.

Although we eat chicken/meat it's not nice for an animal to be cruelly treated.
