You see i get really annoyed with this as in our village we don't have a butchers or grocers we only have a Co-op which is rubbish and expensive or the little Spar shop

If we had butchers etc... i would buy fresh local stuff everyday and not do a huge Tesco shop

We used to have a butchers in the village but it shut down. I was so gutted as it was really cheap, the service was fab and the meat was gorgeous. The one near where DH works isn't as nice, but they do some good deals like £14 for 10lb of steak mince and £18 for 10lb of diced beef. They put it in individual vacuum packs of a 1lb so it's easier to store and use.

We have had some bargains with meat lately when DH goes to tescos at around 9pm when they're reducing loads of it down to pennies. He got some organic racks of ribs for 22p! Definately worth checking out stores for bargains late at night

Apparently ASDA (our local one but I guess it's the same nationwide?) do it aswell. Matt found out about the reduced meat from a colleague at his work who'd been getting joints of meat for 50-60p in ASDA.
We're on quite a strict budget now and can't afford to spend loads of money on expensive meat, so just bulk up what we do buy with extra veg etc.

I found the Jamie programme last night fantastic. Ive really enjoyed this weeks TV for all these programmes that have been on. I think they have been a real eye opener.
