Terrie in fairness your cooking ways are a lot different from everyone elses in more than one way - And it started off like that for you - you know no difference as you said when we were talking about it once

I go to the super market and buy food off the shelf like most people I will continue to do so it doesn't mean Im a bad mother when my daughter gets older & Im not too keen on the 'here here' etc on this thread ramming this kind of stuff down other peoples throats making people feel bad.

I personally hate some stories how things are in this world but thats life I'd just rather not know (personally) I need to eat just like everyone has needed for centuries!

Seriously though last couple of pages are in your face comments - Not nice imo.

No hun you are not the only one who isn't bothered by it, I couldn't care less, If i did i would be a veggie, simple as.

Oh and for the record do you know that a lot of "free range" aren't as free as you would think they are or are lead to believe, they can be classed as free range if they are let out to play for a few hours a day and still crammed in at night

I buy my eggs from the farmer over the road from my Mums, he often lets me take Charlie to feed the hens and then collect a couple of eggs. I know where my eggs are from. Id rather not eat eggs if they were cheap battery ones (((bleughhhhhh))
As for meat, I dont eat alot of chicken, and alot of our meals dont involve any meat at all. I find it cheaper and just as nutricious not to us it. But the meat I do use is around 80% FR, Inc pork from the farm shop. I do try, and Jamie/Hugh have made me think harder about the meat I do comsume from the 'supermarkets'
I think animals should be treated with respect, and Im thrilled that in a few years there will be a difference in the way battery chickens are kept, I know that the conditions will not be free range standards, but its a step in the right direction.

I think that people should know and think about where their food comes from. If they then decide that they have no problem with it then fair enough - the important thing is to think. By the way, I saw a programme last year called The Truth About Supermarkets and it showed that in battery chickens there is a pint of fat due to the way they are reared!

These programmes make me glad I'm a vegetarian lol

Am I right on the fact that there was a programme on this "organic/free range" stuff before and that animals were still being treated badly?

At the end of the day if we were all so animal conscious would we be eating animals? I don't think so!

I hate cruelty to animals, but I also believe that I am a hypocrit as if I was so concerned I wouldn't eat animals!

i love most animals, dogs, chickens, ducks, swans, pigs, cows, sheep, horses, goats, fish etc... BUT I hate cats-Id gladly eat Cat!MIAOW!
