Wind Farms/Turbines, whats ur opinion?

Just wondered what you opinion is on these wind farms/ turbines.

I think theyre a good idea. Eco friendly, excellent natural resource etc (dunno what im talking about really )

But a lot of people object to these because of what they look like, spoiling country side etc - but FFS - they are environemntally friendly, doing good. Why do so many people kick up such a fuss?

I don't mind them, I think they can look quite pretty. Much nicer to look at than Pylons!

They get in the way when you're flying

I agree though, I think they are brilliant and I couldn't care less what they look like.

I live quite near to some (5-10 min drive) and we take the kids round to see them quite often, i find them quite beautiful in a weird kind of way, there so big bit pretty much silent, its quite a sight when theres loads of them in the fields near the coast .. and they do good, i think there great and would have them in my garden to generate my electricity if i could.

I think they look good, shame there not very good tho.... They stand in a big block of concrete and it takes more energy to make the block of concrete than the turbine will make!!

I like them, and I'm all for trying these things.

I think most intelligent objection is about the efficiency and sustainability of them - but you can have that debate about any source of energy.

Thing is, whenever so much money is involved, joe bloggs will never get a good handle on the truth.

If it intrests you, look up Samso it's a totally self sufficient island off denmark... really interesting project.
