and those that have visited. My hubby is in the RAF, but is considering moving to Australian airforce, with us in tow of course! Now several cities have been mentioned to settle near but we really know little about them. Perth and Melbourne were the first 2. Anyone any experience or lived/visited them?

I have never lived in either Perth or Melbourne, but if I had to choose between them I would pick Melbourne,it is just second best to Sydney.Lots of things to do and see, your never too far away from anything.Don't know much about schools etc as I have only visited a few times.Goodluck with your decision.

My uncle lives in Melbourne. I have visited Aus but unfortunately never got to visit as we were staying on the goldcoast and only travelled to Brisbane and Sydney.

Going by what my uncle has sad it seems to be a fantastic place... As angel said it dosent seem to be short of things to do or see and the pictures he has shown us of some of the local areas are lovely.

Xx

I've never lived in either of those cities or states, i'm in NSW in the country!

You'll love Australia, its such a beautiful place to be.

Perth is apparently SO hot right now, like, really foul stinking hot 40dgC weather!

hi coccyx, i am new here - which is why i have popped out of nowhere! I grew up in Sydney, now live in Melbourne and have visited Perth a lot. Perth is a much quieter place than Melbourne. Much smaller. Better beaches! Great holiday spots within driving distance. And Melbourne is wonderful too - excellent food, easy to get around, cultural, great vibe, quite cool. Depends what you are into I guess! misspeta

My sister lives in Melbourne, I love visiting down there, it's a very old city, in the sense the buildings are quite old....It's really beautiful and historic. I love it!! I live in country nsw (not too far from FJL!) - and I love it here too...
