I need your help - Warning may be upsetting

When I was leaving work yesterday, I saw a truck that had a billboard sized image of a 10 week aborted fetus on the side. It stopped me in my tracks. I had to bite my lip to stop from crying. I found the website for the pro-life campaign that is sending these trucks out, and an email address. My cousin has offered to write an email for me as she is much better with the written word than I could ever imagine to be. I have the basic idea of what I want to tell them, I was just hoping for a few more, maybe better organized, thoughts on the subject.

Keep in mind, I am not trying to start a debate about pro-life v.s. pro-choice. That isn't why I am offended. I am offended because people who have suffered a pregnancy loss shouldn't be subjected to random reminders. Also, people who had no choice about an abortion should not be reminded in such a cruel fashion.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I don't know if I can be of any help but I did want to say I don't think you need to be presented with that.

I am neither for nor against, I am each to their own but I too would feel disturbed at it being so graphically put in front of me.

Good luck xxx

How disgusting. I'm sorry you had to see that at all, nevermind so soon after your angel grew it's wings. I can't really offer any help on the matter but I do agree with you. I think most people know how horrific abortions can be without having to look an aborted foetus. X

I wouldn't even bother writing to them, as they are probably too blinded to see anyone else's POV. I wuold write to your local MP and paper though about how unacceptable it is.

Aw hun, that must have been a very upsetting experience, I didn't think it was allowed to so blatantly show images like that? I would definitely email or ring them and see what can be done

I had this in mind too. I was planning on sending them the email, then sending the email to any local public forum that will listen to me.

I would send them the email then, and at the bottom under your signature put CC: and then whoever else you're sending it to, so they can see you're taking it seriously.

I think it is a disgusting way to behave tbh.

I agree with RAF, and also the advertising standards. I will do the same, I should be nine weeks pregnant so it would really upset me to see that, but also what about children seeing it?

That's disgusting, and what a disgraceful way to try to advertise their cause.
Good on you for complaining. I'm sure you have a pretty good idea of what to say, but if I were writing (and I would if I had seen it) I would maybe go with the angle of it being disgracefully and inappropriately insensitive to those who have lost pregnancies (me included), as well as those who have had to undergo abortions. Maybe mention something about their campaign irresponsibly re-traumatising those people, who absolutely did not want to end a life but have to deal with the aftermath of it ending. Also perhaps mentioning that such a campaign would do nothing to help their beliefs and cause, but would only serve to cause hurt and pain and to distance them from people they wish to reach. I suspect that they would react to any suggestion that they are 'wrong' in doing it with an aggressive and uncaring response, hence my suggestion that the letter is written with their point of view in mind.
Personally I would write to them but copy it to as many MP's, local papers etc as you can find.
Really good luck with it. I'm sure if you wanted to post any drafts on here then people would be more than happy to add more.

I'm first to admit that I have very strong opinions.

TBH I would be outraged and devistated if I saw that.

It's hard enough to go through losing a baby, without stuff like that.

You should start a petition, stating that it affects and upsets people who didn't choose to lose a baby, not just those who chose to abort a baby.
